セクション35ですでに取り上げていますが、「条件は試験前と同様」に対する適訳は、

the condition is the same as before the test

ではなく、

the conditions should be identical to (あるいは「the same as」) those existing before the test

です。この例で特筆すべき点は、「条件」が明らかに複数であるということです。そのため、単数形を用いた最初の英訳は誤解を招きます。

「同様」の訳語としては、「identical」の方が「the same」よりも好ましいことが多く、場合によっては、「同じ」の訳語としても、「identical」の方が好ましいでしょう。「identical」は便利でありながら、日本人翻訳者が十分に使いこなせていない英単語です。

「Xと同様の技術的事項が記載されている」という一節を英訳するなら、

there is a description of a technical matter that is similar to X

ではなく、
