「高い性能」に相当する英語表現は、「a high performance」よりも、「a high level of performance」の方がはるかに優れています。この例における「performance」は抽象概念ですから、「extent」よりも「level」の方が適切です。

「簡単な設置で、高精度な流量管理が可能となります。」という一文も同様で、

Simple mounting and highly accurate flow rate control is possible.

よりも、

Simplicity of mounting and highly accurate levels of flow rate control both become possible.

の方が好ましい解釈でしょう。

「そのような構成は、引用発明2の反射板に、引用発明3に記載されている反射板駆動装置を単に組み合わせることで達成できる程度のものに過ぎません。」という一文を英訳するなら、

This constitution is of merely a level achievable by simply combining the reflective panel driving device described in Cited Invention 3 with the reflective panel of Cited Invention 2.

よりも、

This kind of configuration is no more complicated than that of a level that can be attained by simply combining the reflective panel driving device described in Cited Invention 3 with the reflective panel of Cited Invention 2.

の方が適切です。

「Z社は法律や条例基準値より厳しい自主基準『Z社環境基準』を設けた。」という一文を英訳するなら、

Z-Company has established its own ‘Z-Company Environmental Standards’, standards that have been set at more stringent levels than those already promulgated in Japanese laws and ordinances.

が適切です。この文では、「standards」を繰り返して、「同格」が用いられています。「同格」の用例については、セクション496でも取り上げます。

「フレームA、Bの温度上昇が小さくなった」という一節を英訳するなら、

increases in the temperatures of frames A, B were reduced to small

ではなく、

increases in the temperatures of frames A and B were reduced to modest levels

が適切です。

「しくみ面では」に相当する英語表現は、「on the planning level」が適切です。やや異なる「level」の使い方を示す目的で加えた表現ですが、重要な用例です。
