「この患者に治癒的手術が可能でないとは思わない。」という一文を英訳するなら、

We do not think it is not possible for the patient to undergo curative surgery.

よりも、

We do not exclude (あるいは “rule out”) the possibility of the patient’s undergoing curative surgery.

あるいは

We do not exclude (あるいは“rule out”) the possibility of the patient’s being able to undergo curative surgery.

の方がはるかに正確です。もちろん、

We think that it is possible for the patient to undergo curative surgery.

と訳したり、もっとくだけた形として、

We think it possible for the patient to undergo curative surgery.

と表現したりすることもできますが、どちらも、原文の和文に用いられている二重否定の微妙さ加減を正確に伝えきれていません。
